HOW WE GOT THERE

Our Story

Nicole met Jordan on Bumble, where she technically had no choice but to message first (rules are rules). She showed up to the Pourhouse with the energy of someone who had already decided how the evening would go. Jordan, meanwhile, found her slightly terrifying and completely magnetic. The date was easy, a little reckless, and the kind of honest that only happens when two people have absolutely nothing to lose — and everything to gain.

Jordan knew fast. Embarrassingly fast. Cancel-two-other-dates-that-week fast. By date three, he asked her to be exclusive. Nicole blinked. It was bold, possibly premature, but there was something disarming about a man with zero interest in playing it cool. The first time the word "love" came out of Jordan's mouth, it wasn't even directed at Nicole. It was on his sister Sam's birthday — to Sam — while Nicole was sitting right beside him. It wasn't planned. It wasn't smooth. But Nicole thought it was cute — just odd that she wasn't the one he said it to first.

They do not like the same things, but this has never been a problem. Nicole will find Jordan on the couch, inexplicably furious about a couple's behavior on 90 Day Fiancé, a reality show he claims not to watch. Jordan will catch Nicole shoving her phone in his face like it's a crime scene, pointing out horrible spacing on a website. He only has himself to blame for that one. Different in every way that doesn't matter. Aligned in every way that does.

On May 4th, 2024, in Tofino, pajamas, wine, no agenda, they sat down to play "We're Not Really Strangers." What Nicole didn't know was that the deck in front of her didn't exist in any store. Jordan had designed it. Printed it. Shuffled it into the box like it belonged there. Card by card, question by question, the answers got quieter and the room got smaller. The last card told her to close her eyes. When she opened them, he was on one knee.

INTRODUCING

The Crew

The
Girls

Blessy

Maid of Honour (1 of 2)

Met at Shaw. Instantly dubbed one of the Meatballs. Survivor of a Lai family vacation to Malaysia. Intelligent, thoughtful, and hardworking in a way that's almost annoying.

Annessa

Maid of Honour (2 of 2)

Also Shaw. Also a Meatball. Their brothers and ages are swapped in a way that is funny and has never not been funny. Authentic, caring, and one of the kindest people Nicole knows.

Arianna

Bridesmaid

High school bestie, former roommate. Has seen every version of Nicole and stuck around for all of them. Once threw expired sauces on an ex's truck as a full grown adult. Thick as thieves.

Rosinda

Bridesmaid

High school basketball rival turned best friend via Shaw. Always early. Frequently found at Costco. Generous, chill, and fiercely loyal.

Coral

bridesmaid

High school bestie. Opposite in every way except sushi dates and moral compass. The most internally Asian white girl Nicole has ever met. Nicole is the reverse. It works.

Sam

bridesmaid

Jordan's sister. Gets along with Nicole so well they don't need him in the room. The sister she never had. Super excited to officially gain one.

The
Boys

Justin

Best man

Grew up together. Brother from another mother. A heart of gold and a socially unacceptable sense of humor that Jordan finds absolutely hilarious.

Andy

groomsman

Through the good times and the worst of times. Usually with a beer in hand and a roaring laugh at someone else's expense. We keep rockin.

Jon

groomsman

Cactus Club alum. Matches Jordan's antics and sometimes raises them. Enjoys an old fashioned and shooting guns. Not always in that order.

Reid

Groomsman

Cactus Club alum. Cool, quiet, and kinda weird with the unpredictability of a jungle cat. Hawaii travel buddy. The one who gets lost. You've been warned.

JY

Groomsman

Cactus Club alum. The resident chef and the team’s dad. By far the sweetest of the bunch and the most responsible. Every group needs one.

Dom

groomsman

Cactus Club alum. Still standing. Got the drip, got the swag. Hang-ten brother.
